I'm teaching a writing class for @wow_womenonwriting starting in a few weeks! It's a 4 week online generative class focused on the magical marvelous real! I love this misunderstood style and can't wait to share it with new writers! The link is in my bio or go to wow-womenonwriting.com/classroom/ChristyOCallaghan_MagicalReal.php Happy Autumnal Equinox! 🌰 Welcome Fall 🍁 Happy Mabon! 🍂 https://www.instagram.com/reel/CxfxERELpYD/ Hydrangeas in all their September glory. Some pics from the trip @darqskies and I took to @landisarboretum We can't wait to go back for another visit. Went to @landisarboretum yesterday and got to play with the new journal and watercolor set from my @writing.the.wild class kit. I've never done watercolor sketching before, but I loved it. In fact, watercolor and I haven't really played together much at all. I do use pen and ink to do illustration, but that's a final step for shading and depth. This was quick and just capturing colors. Psyched to do more. First drafts can feel so exciting and new like a honeymoon phase, while rewriting is a long term relationship. But that doesn't have to be a bad thing. This week's post explores rewriting and @guerillamemoir 's book Seven Drafts: Edit Like a Pro from Blank Page to Book. My blog is up, link in linktree or go to christyflutterby.com. Did a little cat yoga yesterday with my beautiful and amazing sister in law @the_lizdom A.K.A. The Mother of Cats. These two siblings kept hanging with me through the session. What a sweet little pair. Also, check out the black toe beans on the white paws of that adorable kitty she's holding! Say hello to my little friends. So happy to see them when I'm out and about.
